Growing up hiking the Cascade Mountains and remote beaches of Oregon and Washington, I developed a strong connection to the spirit of Northwest spaces. Today my artwork reflects my passion for these rugged landscapes as well as the urbanscapes of my hometown, Seattle.
Trained as an architect, I also bring to my work, an awareness of the structure and characteristics of space as well as the qualities of light that create form.
I find that it is through the process of creating that great work happens. The finished piece is only a record of the act of interpretation and only a record of that single point in time that the artist chooses to end that process. Ultimately, I engage in the process of painting as an ongoing kinetic expression of form and space.
