Growing up hiking the Cascade Mountains and walking the remote beaches of Oregon and Washington, I developed a strong connection to the spirit of Northwest spaces. Today my artwork reflects my passion for these rugged landscapes as well as the urbanscapes of my hometown, Seattle.
Trained as an architect, I bring to my work an awareness of the structure of space and light's ability to manipulate form.
I find that it is through focus on the process of creation that great work happens. The finished piece is a record of my interpretation process -- forever held in the single moment I decide the work is done. Ultimately, I engage with painting as an ongoing kinetic expression of form and space.
